Doug Jones manages outreach efforts in Illinois and Iowa for the development of the Rock Island Clean Line, a high voltage direct current transmission line that will deliver 3,500 megawatts of the best renewable power from Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota and Minnesota to communities in Illinois and other states to the east. Doug is responsible for supporting the permitting of the Rock Island Clean Line project in Iowa and Illinois. He works on public outreach efforts including coordinating meetings with and speaking to local environmental, agricultural and social organizations, chambers of commerce and other local groups. Doug also works closely with local, county, and state officials as well as landowners, farmers and other key stakeholders in regions involved in development of the transmission line project.

Before joining Clean Line, Doug spent nearly ten years with Horizon Wind Energy as a Senior Project Development Manager.  During his career at Horizon Wind, Doug had a direct hand in the development of over 1.5 gigawatts of operating wind power across the Midwest, including projects in Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. Prior to entering the renewable energy field Doug was a high school physics teacher in northwest Iowa. Doug received his Bachelor of Science from Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa and his MSE degree from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.  Doug lives in Davenport, Iowa.
