As Vice President and General Counsel, Kathy Patton is responsible for all legal, contractual, regulatory and compliance matters for Clean Line. To lead the projects through their respective state permitting processes, Kathy draws from a background at Allegheny Energy, Inc., where she was instrumental in obtaining regulatory approvals for the Trans-Allegheny Interstate Line Project. Kathy has over 20 years of experience practicing before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and on energy policy matters.

Before joining Clean Line, Kathy served as Deputy General Counsel for Allegheny, where she oversaw legal matters for the company's regulated electric utilities and transmission companies, and served as the company's Chief Compliance Officer. Prior to Allegheny, Kathy was with Dynegy, serving as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary for Illinois Power Company and Northern Natural Gas Company, and Vice President and Assistant General Counsel for Dynegy, Inc. While at Illinois Power, she was responsible for the legal and regulatory affairs of the company, as well as the corporate strategy function. Prior to joining Dynegy, Kathy was an associate with the law firm of John, Hengerer & Esposito in Washington, D.C.

Kathy is a graduate of the University of Saint Thomas in Houston, Texas, with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. She earned her Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law. She is a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the District of Columbia Bar and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Bar‪.
